A visit to the Akhmet Baitursynuly Museum
On 23 September, first-year students of groups Ю-26-1 and Ю-26-4 visited the house museum of Akhmet Baitursynuly in Almaty. The visit was organised by teachers B. B. Isabekova and Zh. K. Baigaskina.
Akhmet Baitursynuly was a linguist, educator and public figure, the author of the reformed Kazakh alphabet known as Töte zhazu and of the first Kazakh primer. The museum keeps his manuscripts, books and documents, and his words on knowledge and enlightenment are written on its walls.
The students explored the exhibition, heard the story of Baitursynuly’s life and legacy, and took a group photo at his monument in the museum courtyard.
Meetings with history like this are part of studying at META: future lawyers should know the people who stood at the origins of Kazakh scholarship and education.
